We have been working in the underwater ultrasound and sonar field since the late 1990s, carrying out contracted R&D for several New Zealand and international customers as well as publishing and presenting at international conferences.
Our team has a solid understanding of sonar system design, transducer technology, transceiver architectures, low noise electronics, as well as programmable logic and high-power transmitters. Several patents have been granted as a result of our work.
We have designed and built various transducers for commercial and research purposes – from linear and 2D hydrophone arrays to flat and curved projectors as well as multi-element split beam transducers. We have built various demonstrators including low-noise input stages, low-cost multi-channel bandpass sampling receiver, single channel analogue amplifiers, multi-channel low and high-power digital transmitters.
